We go to the computer lab at least once a month. The students love it because it is like a field trip, except for me it´s a hike up three floors. However, lately every time I go into their class they yell, ¨Are we going upstairs?¨. So I used this as a teachable moment. I told the students ¨No escucho ingles¨ (I cannot hear English). They learned ¨¿Vamos (ir a) arriba?¨
Parents please ask your student to use vamos-are we going.

¡Tengo hambre!
I always see Kinder right after lunch and there is always someone taking about food. So it is only reasonable that at some point in the year we spend a couple of weeks taking about food... healthy and unhealthy.
I can't with to see where this unit takes us... I see a story being acted out in the future. Due to this future story days of the week are coming next. |
¿Tienes una mascota?
As I got the beautiful pictures of your families, students started talking about their pets and how they too are part of their families.
We found out that Ms. Sarno´s class likes gatos while Ms. Germanier´s class likes perros. However, we also have friends who do not have pets due to them we talked about the word quiero to state if we could have a pet which one would we want. Momentos especiales
Student 1: I don't have any pets. Teacher: Why don't you tell me what you quieres? Student 2: Yes you do. Do you have a back yard... Student 1: Yes Student 2: Is there a conejo in your back yard or a pájaro? Student 1: I think, yes. Student 2: We then those are your pets. I was left speechless. Such smart kids! |

¿Con quien vives?
|
Who do you live with?
Students have been super excited to see whose family picture we are going to see. I you have not sent one please do so at any time. Students love to show off their daily pets and siblings. Not on the video abuelito-grandpa abuelita-grandma yo-I At home... Please focus on hermana(sister) y hermano(brother). Students in all grades have the hardest time remembering those two people. |
¿Cómo estas?
How are you? Students starting to show how dramatic they can be with their feelings.
At home... Practice feelings by playing a game of charades. You can also greet each other in Spanish every morning. Parent: ¿Cómo estas? Student: Feliz (happy face) |
